NOVEMBER 2010 - MESSAGE FROM COLLEGE ADMINISTRATION
IKSDP-Nyandiwa Teachers Training College was established two years ago with student population of 32 only. The number of teaching staff was ten in total. Many of our Lectures did not have full skills of Prymary Teacher Education (PTE) except the Principal and one other member. Neither did the students have any reference materials nor people to copy from. However, because of our MOTTO MAI SECONDO- second to none: a spirited determination was put to work. And our objective has been achieved-thus out of 32 candidates 24 managed to pass. And 8 others were referred in various subjects. Something to look at in our vision and mission is the task to produce first class teachers in this nation and the world. Our results reveal that we are ranked among the top colleges in Kenya in as far as Teaching practice is concerned. Our candidates passed with distinctions, which are the top grades in PTE in Kenya. BREAKDOWN (T/PRACTICE) DISTINCTION –1 = 12 DISTINCTION –2 = 20 CREDIT = 0 FAIL =0 TOTAL 32 PASS (100%) We call upon the public/community to respond to this professional input and take the opportunity to have their children, relatives and friends train at IKSDP-Nyandiwa TTC. We still have few chances for January 2011 intake. As I end my remarks, I wish to sincerely thank our Director Antonio Labate, Project Manager Margaret Ongombeh and Her Deputy Tobias Nyang’or and Brownsea Foundation for their tireless support to the college. Since we are still a young college, we promise to grow big and bigger with qualitative grades. May God bless all concerned. MICHAEL ONGOMBEH PRINCIPAL
